What is Schluter Systems?
Schluter (pronounced sh-loo-ter) Systems is a company that manufactures and distributes installation systems for showers and other tiled surfaces. They offer a range of products that are designed to provide protection, support, and waterproofing. Schluter System products are commonly used in both residential and commercial tile installations.
At Shipley Remodel, we exclusively use Schluter Shower Systems for tiled showers because of their high standard in waterproofing. We use their KERDI line of products for showers and DITRA for floors. Both are 100% customizable to any size/shape of space. KERDI is a pliable sheet waterproofing membrane. DITRA is an uncoupling membrane that allows for movement underneath your tiles (caused by temperature fluctuations and things of that nature) and protects your tile and grout from cracking due to fluctuation. It is also waterproof and Schluter DETRA offers a heated option for easy heated floor installation!
